The 35th annual De Soto Fall Festival, run by the De Soto Chamber of Commerce on Main Street between Fletcher and West Pratt. Craft vendors, a farmers market and food trucks run 9 to 4, with a beer tent and wine tasting, and Blackwell Station plays from 1 to 5. For kids there are bounce houses and an obstacle course on a $10 wristband, kangaroo encounters for $10, alpacas from Big River Alpacas, a dunk tank and a magic show at 11 with D.J. Edwards. Trucks, Tracks & Kodak Moments near the Plaza is free and lets kids see big vehicles up close, with a free hat for the first 150. There is a car, truck and bike show as well: registration 7 to 9 AM on Main Street near the Plaza, entering at Fletcher and Main, $20 to enter, awards at 2. For anyone thinking of taking a booth: a 10x10 crafter or business space is $70, or $50 for chamber members, and reservations close September 1 with nothing taken on the day. Spaces are assigned that morning, set-up is 7 AM, and there is no electric or water, so bring your own canopy. Applications go through the Chamber.
