The 65th Greentree Festival, and for 2026 it doubles as Kirkwood's America 250 celebration. Three days under the trees of Kirkwood Park and free to walk in. Friday the 18th is opening night, 5 to 10, with food, live music, the Wine Garden and the dog events, and worth knowing before you drive out: the arts and crafts booths are not open on the Friday. Saturday the 19th is the full day, 9 to 7, opening with the Greentree Parade at 10 from Kirkwood High School, then crafts, Folklife artisans demonstrating traditional trades, the Kid Zone from noon and main stage music from 11:30. Sunday the 20th is the finale, 10 to 5, with the crafts, Folklife and music running again. The craft fair itself is juried and handmade only, no resale and nothing mass-produced, and the 2026 booths are already full with a waitlist through the city. Free shuttles run into the park from Lots R and S at St. Louis Community College, off Geyer near Big Bend. The whole thing started in 1961, when Kirkwood lost much of its tree canopy to drought and Dutch elm disease and the town planted its way back.
